Originally from Flint, Michigan, and now based in Ypsilanti and the owner of Be Creative Studio, Curtis has dedicated his life to creating, teaching, and preserving the beauty of authentic human expression through art.

Curtis Wallace is a Black American portrait artist with over 37 years of experience in acrylic painting. Originally from Flint, Michigan, and now based in Ypsilanti, Curtis’s journey has been a tapestry of art, education, and community service. His work integrates art into childcare, technology, and special education, bringing creativity to diverse learning environments.
Curtis’s passion lies in capturing the emotions and essence of people through portraits. His work includes workshops, community murals, art installations, and live painting events worldwide—both in person and online. Curtis is driven by the belief that art has the power to connect people and preserve authentic expressions.
