DIANA OF DOBSON'S

Written by Cecily Hamilton

Lightly Adapted by Kerry McGee & Rachel Dixon

Directed by Kerry McGee

A play ahead of its time, Diana of Dobson's tells the story of a young woman, Diana, working in an Edwardian department store. Underpaid, unappreciated, and caught in a cycle of poverty, Diana's life changes when she receives a sizable inheritance. Throwing caution to the wind, Diana chooses to see how the other half lives. She spends her money on one lavish vacation, knowing all too well the money will eventually run out.

Written by Suffragette and activist Cecily Hamilton, Diana of Dobson's is a romantic comedy that joins the rank of feminist work for its incisive critiques of health and work conditions, gender inequality, homelessness, and marriage.

This staged reading is a fundraising event for We Happy Few, so in addition to the theatre, we'll have music and games (with prizes!) for all ticket holders.

This staged reading will be presented at Big Bear Cafe's upstairs bar.

Join us for food, drink, and an evening of theatre.
